The ad for the Travis Scott Meal, which was released today, features Scott as a Happy Meal toy of himself showing off the combo, which he touts as his “same order since back in Houston.” This gesture toward authenticity (eat the very same thing Travis Scott eats!) wrapped within so many layers of artifice (a Happy Meal toy, in itself a miniature of a regular-degular toy, representing a rap artist promoting food from a brand that has become synonymous with processed and fake) is a real chef’s kiss, a super-playful way to drum up excitement for what is essentially the following: … [Read more...] about What’s All the Hype About the ‘Travis Scott Meal’ at McDonald’s? We pull up to Orso, a Theater District restaurant Lee Daniels told LaBelle to try, and are joined by Lona, her makeup artist, and Edwards’s assistant, Zenep, who’s brought LaBelle a cilantro plant. LaBelle, author of three cookbooks, is staying at the London hotel and doesn’t have a kitchen, but she brought several Vuitton suitcases full of electric pots and kitchen supplies and plans to use the herbs that night. Every day before the hotel maids come, she sweeps. She also cleans up for her housekeeper back home. It is time managements put their audiences first and insist on the old adage, slightly adapted by me, ‘The show must go on — with ALL principals.’” (Impeccable em-dash use from the dame.) … [Read more...] about Diana Rigg Concerned Lauren Ambrose Is Not Willing to Destroy Her Voice for
Last month, Alex shared a heartfelt post on social media, revealing that she was so happy to be returning home to her son that she was "close to tears." Writing besides a black-and-white photo of her cradling her little boy, she wrote: "Back at home after my longest week of work since Teddy arrived. It was great to dip my toe back in, but I'm so relieved and grateful to have the rest of the week with Ted. He's now asleep in my arms and I could cry I'm so happy!!" … [Read more...] about Alex Jones shares rare photo of baby Teddy in his room
