During the visit, the mission was briefed on the islands' socio-economic development situation as well as island units' observance of combat readiness regulations. Lieutenant General Nguyen Trong Binh highly appreciated island localities' socio-economic development plans, especially their tourism promotion activities. He also praised units under Military Region 9, Naval Region 5, Coast Guard Region 4, and Vietnam Border Guard Command for their close coordination with local armed forces in ensuring political security and public orders. Regarding missions in the coming time, GS's deputy chief asked forces on islands to foster cooperation and regularly report on local situation to the Central Military Commission and Ministry of National Defense. He also urged units on islands to effectively conduct mass mobilization activities and carry out social welfare policies in localities where they are stationed, accelerate patrols, strictly observe combat readiness regulations, and well fulfill all assigned missions.
