Hogan branded a “disgrace” by WWE fans as black stars respond to reinstatement

A number of black WWE stars have responded to the controversial decision to reinstate Hulk Hogan to the Hall of Fame. Hogan, 64, was inducted in 2005 but axed when footage of him making racial slurs was made public in 2015. The New Day were among those to respond with Kofi Kingston posting a statement on social media on behalf of the trio. He insisted they felt “indifferent” over the decision, adding: “We are not happy, or sad, angry or resentful.” Kingston added: “We find it difficult to simply forget, regardless of how long ago it was, or the situation in which those comments were made. “Perhaps if we see him make a genuine effort to change, then maybe our opinion will change with him. Time will tell.” Mark Henry insisted Hogan’s return had caused a 50-50 divide in the WWE locker room, but he believes he has served a punishment. “I do feel like he genuinely wants to clear his name,” he told TMZ. “He sees people that used to respect him, they look at him different.
