President Donald Trump and Alec Baldwin are still locked together in a volatile dance of tweet attacks: Baldwin will be asked questions by the press about his Saturday Night Live impression and Trump will trash the actor on Twitter in response. The latest example of this comes after Baldwin referred to his role on the sketch comedy series as “agony.” “Every time I do it now, it’s like agony. Agony. I can’t,” Baldwin had told The Hollywood Reporter in an interview published this week. So Trump responded with an early Friday morning tweet that read: “Alex Baldwin, whose dieing mediocre career was saved by his impersonation of me on SNL, now says playing DJT was agony for him. Alex, it was also agony for those who were forced to watch. You were terrible. Bring back Darrell Hammond, much funnier and a far greater talent!” Clearly, that tweet had a few errors (“Alex” Baldwin?), so 25 minutes later, the president deleted the original tweet and reposted it after some copyediting: Hammond had portrayed Trump, as well as Bill Clinton, during his 15-year run on SNL.
